Garage Door Repair

GarageWiz handles garage door repair across the DMV. Grinding, sticking, sagging, or just plain loud. Most door problems come down to worn rollers, loose hardware, bent tracks, or tired springs. A GarageWiz tech diagnoses the real cause, quotes one flat price, and gets your door running smooth and quiet the same day.

Signs you need this

  • The door is noisy, jerky, or shudders as it moves
  • It sticks, catches, or stops partway
  • Sagging sections, loose hinges, or worn rollers
  • The door is crooked or won’t seal at the bottom
  • The opener works but the door fights it

What’s included

  • Full diagnostic of springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and hardware
  • Roller, hinge, and bearing replacement as needed
  • Track realignment and hardware tightening
  • Lubrication and a full balance check
  • Warranty on qualifying repairs

No hidden fees. You’ll see one flat price before any work begins.

What affects the price

No two doors are identical, so we give you one flat price before any work starts, never an hourly surprise. What moves the number: the parts your door actually needs, whether it’s a single, double, or oversized door, the brand and quality of the hardware, and whether it’s a standard visit or an after-hours emergency. Either way, you approve the price up front, and there are no hidden fees.

What garage door repair actually covers

Garage door repair is the umbrella over everything that can go wrong with the system. The most common calls we run: worn rollers and hinges that make the door grind and shudder, a snapped torsion spring that leaves the door too heavy to lift, an opener that hums but won't pull, a cable that jumped its drum and left the door crooked, and panels dented by a bumper. Each of those has its own page with signs and details, but you don't need to diagnose it yourself. Describe the symptom, and the tech confirms the cause in the driveway before quoting anything.

Repair or replace?

Most of the time, repair wins. A door with a broken spring, a bad panel, or a dead opener is usually a few hundred dollars from working like new, while a full replacement is a four-figure project. Replacement starts to make sense when the door itself is failing structurally: multiple rotted or delaminating panels, a frame the hardware can't anchor to anymore, or repair bills arriving every season. When we think you're better off with a new garage door installation, we'll say so and quote both ways, and the choice stays yours.

Why DMV doors act up

This region is hard on garage doors. Humid summers swell wood doors and rust hardware, winter cold makes springs brittle and grease thick, and the swing between the two works every bolt loose a little more each year. The housing stock adds its own patterns: postwar Maryland suburbs full of original single-car doors, 1980s and 90s builder-grade hardware reaching the end of its life all at once, and newer smart openers that fail in software instead of steel. A twice-yearly tune-up catches most of it before it becomes a breakdown.

Jonathan was very honest and professional . We have a very heavy double insulated steel garage door. He measured the exact size of springs and ordered it as needed. Did not try to upsell us when he arrive. He also inspected the broken track and advise us on 2 options.

Johnathan was on time, very professional, and explained everything about his visit. He was very detailed about our 2 door garage. We called about a Garage door Tune up Special ( $69), and the possibility of him syncing our new garage opener.
